GCconnex is a professional social networking platform where human connections and trust are key. People relate more to (and interact more with) individuals than to (with) generic mailbox. This is why we strongly encourage you to have an individual as the owner of a group.

This being said, we understand that in some cases (if your group serves as an intranet-type of communications), you will want to share the responsibilities that come with community management.

Here is an option: Choose someone as the group owner, and assign as many group operators as you want. They have the exact same administrative rights as the group owner (except for deleting the group).

Still not convinced? If you decide to use a generic email for your group, make sure it’s clear who is behind it. Do like big companies do on Twitter for example: add the initial of the person communicating/responding with the generic persona (ex: ^AL)
